Giant lands in Taipei 101! LV opens new menswear store in Metropolis Plaza
International boutique
Louis Vuitton (LV) has opened a new men's clothing store in the Metropolis Plaza on the fourth floor of Taipei 101 Shopping Center. A nearly 9.2-meter-tall psychedelic giant sculpture was erected in the Metropolis Plaza for a grand opening.
A huge fashion mannequin overlooks the LV men's clothing store. This is one of LV's new series of sculptural fashion mannequins "Kai". This sculpture concept can be said to be the largest statue created in the history of the brand, and it is the second largest sculpture in Miami last December. After appearing at the LV 2022 spring and summer show, it was exposed in other locations for the first time, which is of special commemorative significance.
Inspired by the core characters of the fashion show, such as musician Goldie, transgender model Kai Isaiah-Jamal, and former creative director Virgil Abloh, it was created using 3D printing technology and sprayed with psychedelic colors to show the playful movement and pragmatic imagery.
The exterior wall of LV's new men's clothing store is 3 meters high and 52 meters in circumference. The design adopts a "twisted concept" and is inspired by the Spiral Lamp created by Atelier Oï's architectural designer for Louis Vuitton's Objets Nomades series. The vertical twisted belt that forms the facade is double-sided, one silver and one blue. The twisted shape of the belt makes the surface seem to move as customers walk along the perimeter of the store, delivering a dynamic visual effect.
The store displays a full range of men's boutiques, which can be seen from the spacious entrance. Fashionable clothing and shoes are located in a more private area at the back, and vintage furniture decorates this unique space.
