We invite painting enthusiasts from all over the world to come together to experience Taiwan's humanistic passion and sunshine, the rich summer activities and features of mountains, forests, seaside attractions, ecosystems, and food. Combined with the Taipei 101 building, participants can freely show their skills, styles, and creativity with unlimited themes to capture the unique cultural atmosphere of Taiwan or those touching moments, and to paint a charming Taiwan in your heart. Registration is free!
The 2024 Taipei 101 International Painting Competition will be open for online registration from now on, and on-site submission will be open on June 30th. Organized by Taipei 101, with the Department of Tourism and Communications of the Taipei City Government serving as the guiding unit, the competition will be based on the theme of "Passion for Taiwan", and will be divided into two categories: youth and adult, and is open to all domestic and foreigners who love to paint. The competition will be held in the form of a "one-sheet" competition, with one gold, one silver, and one bronze award and 10 masterpieces in each category, and each person is limited to submitting one work.
It is hoped that through this competition, domestic and foreign people who love to paint will come together to explore the beautiful of Taipei. Combining the figures of Taipei 101 landmarks, participants will utilize their painting skills and creativity to depict the passionate humanistic atmosphere, energetic features, and heartwarming pictorial representations that are unique to Taiwan.
Mountains and coastline
Taiwan is an island of natural beauty, with breathtaking landscapes ranging from mountainous peaks to azure shores. In your paintings, you can depict Taiwan's mountains, forests and coastline in their raw beauty and vibrant atmosphere. Imagine standing on a mountaintop looking into the distance and feeling the beauty of nature.

Summer activities
There are many exciting activities in Taipei City during the summer, the most representative of which are the Dadaocheng Fireworks Show and the Dragon Boat Race. The fireworks show in Dadaocheng attracts countless tourists every year, and with the melodious music and gorgeous fireworks, it creates a fantastic night scene. The Dragon Boat Race is an important activity of the Dragon Boat Festival in Taiwan, demonstrating strong teamwork and fierce competition.
In addition, the summer festivals of Taiwan's aboriginal people, such as the Ami's "Traditional Plowing Festival" or the Saisiat's "Saisiat Bun Festival," are filled with a strong cultural atmosphere and are a unique part of the summer season in Taiwan.

Ecologies
Taiwan has a rich diversity of biological resources, including many unique plants and animals. In your paintings, you can depict Taiwan's flora and fauna, such as the Taiwanese black bear, the Formosan macaque, as well as a variety of colorful birds and insects. These living creatures will enrich your paintings and allow the viewer to experience the unique beauty of Taiwan's ecology.

Food culture
Taiwan is famous for its rich and diverse culinary culture. Among the popular Taiwanese summer fruits, such as mango and watermelon, these juicy and refreshing fruits are the best choice to satisfy your thirst in summer. Winners who meet the eligibility criteria and rules of the contest will receive up to NT$50,000 in gift vouchers for the Taipei 101 Shopping Center, as well as an exclusive certificate of appreciation. All winning works will have the opportunity to be displayed in the Interactive Gallery on the 5F of Taipei 101, where visitors from all over the world will be able to appreciate the beauty of the winning entries through a visit to Taipei 101.
How to apply for the competition
I.Eligibility
 Anyone who is interested in painting is eligible to participate. Those who are under 18 years old must have the consent of their legal representatives.
II.Groups
Youth (under 18 years old), Adult (over 18 years old).
III.Theme and Contents of the Contest
The theme of the contest is "Passionate Taiwan". Draw a picture of the unique humanities, ecology, or scenic spots in Taiwan and combine it with Taipei 101, which represents Taiwan's contemporary civilization and aesthetics of life, and draw a picture of Taiwan with passion in your heart.
**Please specify a title for your work and each participant can submit only one piece of work; there will be Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes for each group, and each participant is limited to one prize.
IV.Work specifications
The size of the works is limited to "4K (15.5 "x21.5")", and the medium is limited to graphic paper, with no limitation on the type of paper.
Limited to graphic works, hand-painted, in any style, and not in the form of framing, painting, photography, or sculpture.
The "one-sheet" method is used to solicit submissions. Please specify a title for your work on each sheet, and submit your work according to the theme.
A declaration of work should be attached to the back of the work with transparent tape.

Online registration will be open on April 30th, and on-site registration will be open from June 30th to August 31st at the Taipei 101 Shopping Center-B1 Customer Service Center, Taipei 101 Observation Deck 5F Souvenir Shop, and 89F Observation Deck Service Counter.
VI. Method of Submission
Participants should fill out the application form on the website of Taipei 101, or register on-siteat the Taipei 101 Customer Service Center (B1), Taipei 101 Souvenir Shop (5F), or Taipei 101 Observation Deck (89F) during the open registration period. When submitting your work, use transparent tape to stick a declaration on the back of your work, and sign or stamp your signature at the "Signature of the author" section to ensure your eligibility to participate in the competition, and submit it in person to the Taipei 101. 
VII. Period of Submission and Place of Submission.
From June 30, 2023 to August 31, 2023, the deadline for submission. Delivered in person to Taipei 101 Shopping Center - B1 Customer Service Center, Taipei 101 Observation Deck 5F Souvenir Shop, 89F Observation Deck Service Counter, No. 45, Shifu Road, Xinyi District, Taipei City.
